Local governments have already started to implement regulations on Nitrogen Oxide producing equipment, with further bans expected in the coming years. Contra Costa County has temporarily suspended their all-electric building ordinance, however it is still recommended that new homes and those undergoing extensive remodels electrify.
Alameda County does not currently have specific regulations for home electrification, but it is highly recommended that homeowners start the electrification process now as a part of their climate plan.

Energy Efficient Home Improvement Tax Credit - As a part of the Inflation Reduction Act, homeowners can reduce their federal tax liability by 30% of the total cost for qualifying home upgrades. Also referred to as the 25C Tax Credit, several electrification projects are eligible, like heat pump installation, heat pump water heaters, and more.

TECH Clean California Rebates - Homeowners can qualify for up to $1,000 for heat pump installation. These rebates are going fast, so it’s important to act quickly to maximize your savings. High rebate amounts are available for income-qualified customers.
